Self-Study Module 3

This devlog is a part of learning of KIT207 from UTAS. This week, our mission is trying to making terrains and meshes in Unity using the Terrain Package and ProBuilder.

So, this week I started my work by making a terrain. To be honest, terrain is a whole new thing to me and I have no idea how to create a terrain. So, I had to watch a few tutorials on youtube to understand more about it. The 2 tutorials by Brackey and UGuruz below are the 2 tutorials that helped me the most in this so check it outs if you have time

After watching these 2 tutorials, I started creating a terrain in Unity. Basically, it's not really that difficult because the Terrain tools are really powerful and almost meet all my needs. Here are a few images of the valley I created just by Sculpting and painting texture and tree . I also added a model of the stadium (which was created earlier in blender ) to make it look as realistic as possible.

Coming to meshing with ProBuilder in Unity, it's a lot easier than creating terrain because I've worked with Blender before and ProBuilder seems to have a lot in common with Blender. I finished creating a Parkour zone with ProBuilder and this is what it looks like. Actually I could color it to be more visible however I found that I'm more interested in with all white so I leave it there.

After all I put it into my terrain and it's the picture when all the things combine

Overall, this week's work is completely new to me and I think I've done it fine as a first time novice. I think I will practice more to use these 2 packages in the best way because level design is a very important element of a game.
